One a day?

November 15, 2010

Ok… so I got busy. I had a nearly catastrophic painting accident that has consumed most of my time…as well as a weekend job (the dream had to end some time…. )
Not to worry though, the painting accident in question has been dealt with and it is back on track…. nearly done! Looking pretty alright.
Because I have been focusing just about all my time on this one big commission I fell behind on my project. I was also going crosseyed…so I took a break and this little guy emerged!

One a day II

November 3, 2010

I’m restarting my one drawing a day project. With the response from my previous sale of the older drawings, I figure now is a great time to pick this back up. Plus it’s a nice outlet and a good exercise.

So, I will be posting one new drawing a day with the hopes to sell each new drawing by the following day. $25  and if it doesn’t sell…it’s getting shredded. Maybe this will teach me to be less precious with my work.
Whether or not I can actually muster up the strength to shred a piece of art I spent all day on.. well only time will tell!

Here is today’s One a Day drawing.

Sign Language

My first attempt at a traditional hand painted sign. Freehanded and tedious. Huge respect to legit sign painters and Art Directors.

The Boxer

October 17, 2010

Back when I had an office job, I worked with some really awesome people who sometimes brought their dogs in to work. If you’ve ever worked in an office, you know that having a dog around changes the energy of the whole place – Instant sunshine!
One of the night guys, Andre, had an adorable boxer puppy named Dexter. He was the cutest little guy with a face full of wrinkles and having him run around the office always made my work day exponentially better.

Sadly, not long after I left the company, Dexter was hit by a car and passed away. I’ve never had a pet, but I can easily understand how terrible that loss is. That being said, when Andre contacted me to paint a portrait of his pup, I was more than happy to do that for him.

Just Cruising….

October 12, 2010

It’s been three months since I started working freelance and I have to say it has been pretty incredible! I have been producing some great stuff and have some big projects in the works that I’m really excited about. As they develop, I will start talking about them more.

In the mean time…. look look look!!!!

Painted this last week to pay for my new Linus Bicycle!!! Isn’t it the nicest bike ever? It looks so great with my Brooks Saddle on there. Rides like a dream!

I also had the opportunity to hang some of my work at The Proudest Pony, a new salon on College St. (1234 College St.) It’s an adorable little space with a smart design and a super sweet owner/stylist. I am so happy to have my pieces there. Go check them out and get Ashley to cut your locks!
